Panpot: Documenting Music in Montreal
Eric Theriault is co-editor, journalist, and also doubles as the head of content, media relations, and advertising. Despite a thorough broadcasting and advertising background, Eric may be best known to Montrealers for his various “on the field” radio interviews for CKUT-FM since 2002, along with occasional freelance contributions to other music publications.
He and some other fine folks in Montreal have started an excellent website called panpot its short for ‘panorama potentiometer’ on the mixing console. It is the knob that fades sound left and right. In 1940, Disney released the film Fantasia - the first to feature the new Fantasound technology. This new format developed many audio techniques still used today, such as the click track, the panpot and simultaneous multitrack recording. Disney's chief engineer William Garity was asked to create the illusion of sound moving across the screen, which he did by fading the volume between two speakers: the panpot was born.
Please, do yourself a favor and check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Don't miss the excellent audio archive of interviews.

Not sure how it will work , but ill try to select something from the first page of a google image search.[using one or more words from the poem]..if not one of these, something I think will jive well with the words....
